ULAM: Filipino culinary arts program
ULAM is a free 10-week filipino culinary arts program for youth ages 17-29 in partnership with sketch working arts and lamesa filipino kitchen. this program will provide youth the opportunity to learn about filipino culinary arts through technical cooking workshops, engaging historical lessonS, and through accessing a network of prominent filipino chefs and industry professionals.
Workshops are designed to explore Filipino culinary arts in relation to cultural identity, family, peers, community, nation and finally, homeland.
ULAM aims to link participants with active professionals in Toronto's culinary industry through exposure, mentorship, and possible collaboration. Participants will be guided to prepare for industry entry through extracurricular learning opportunities and a culminating project at Kapisanan's 12th Annual KULTURA Filipino Arts Festival.

Open to youth of all ethnic backgrounds, prioritizing Filipino youth and youth living homeless or on the margins.
Must be willing to commit to the incubation of a new food collective throughout the summer.
