KULTURA FESTIVAL COORDINATOR

Employment Type: Contract
Compensation: TBD; This is a paid position, made possible through the Canada Summer Jobs Grant.
Reports to: Executive Director
Supervises: KULTURA Junior Coordinator(s)

The KULTURA Festival Coordinator will provide leadership in the planning, implementation, and evaluation in all KULTURA Festival development efforts, which includes coordinating necessary Junior Coordinators and volunteers.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

We are seeking a dynamic, committed person who is:

  • Well-organized and self-motivated;
  • Background in the arts and culture production (an asset);
  • Background in Event Planning, Public Relations, or related fields (an asset);
  • Ability to manage budgets and materials;
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Producing detailed proposals for KULTURA (e.g. timelines, venues, suppliers, legal obligations, staffing, budgets);
  • Securing and booking a suitable venue or location;
  • Coordinating venue management, caterers, contractors, equipment hire, etc.;
  • Organizing facilities for traffic control, security, first aid, hospitality, and the media;
  • Identifying and securing speakers or special guests;
  • Planning room layouts and the entertainment programming, scheduling workshops, and demonstrations;
  • Coordinating staffing requirements and staff briefings;
  • Selling sponsorship/stand/exhibition space to potential exhibitors/partners;
  • Complete all tasks in a timely fashion with high quality of work;
  • Ability to attend various KAPISANAN events;
  • Carry out all responsibilities in a professional, and effective manner;
  • Be organized and responsible professional with the ability to function as a team leader and member;
  • Good organizational and time-management skills; able to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Communicate regularly with Executive Director on the status of the tasks assigned;
  • Perform any other duties and carry out any other requests as directed by the Executive Director.

Supervises: Junior Coordinator(s)

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will provide leadership in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of KAPISANAN's outreach efforts and play a key role in the overall public relations efforts of the organization.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

We are seeking a dynamic, committed person who is:

  • Well-organized and self-motivated;
  • Background in the arts and culture production;
  • Background in Advertising, Public Relations, Marketing & Communications, or related fields;
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Assist in coordinating KULTURA Marketing and Communications Plan draft for Summer 2017;
  • Lead in writing and distribution of press releases, media advisories, and other internal and external communication material;
  • Assist KULTURA and KAPISANAN staff in drafting, editing, and distributing marketing collateral materials;
  • Assist in overseeing branding to refine and strengthen KULTURA and KAPISANAN identity and image;
  • Complete all tasks in a timely fashion with high quality of work;
  • Ability to attend various KAPISANAN events;
  • Carry out all responsibilities in a professional, and effective manner;
  • Be organized and responsible professional with the ability to function as a team leader and member;
  • Good organizational and time-management skills; able to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Communicate regularly with Executive Director on the status of the tasks assigned;
