CLUTCH is back for its 7th year, and NAVIGATION returns for its 2nd--but what exactly are these programs, you ask?
CLUTCH and NAVIGATION are 6-month concurrent, arts-based, cultural immersion programs for Filipino youth, ages 17 to 24 years. CLUTCH and NAV are gender-specific, collaborative programs, which will empower Filipino youth with a sense of who they are, where they come from, and why their voice matters. These programs enable participants to start a dialogue with each other through the arts, get mentorship from professional artists within the community, have access to professional tools to hone their creativity, define their identity, and explore their cultural heritage.
To learn more about these programs and to meet the new volumes' program coordinators, Kapisanan will host an open house where you can come and mingle with former alumni and mentors in order to get a better feel for what the program entails in terms of involvement, responsibility, and how the participants have benefited from their participation.
CLUTCH & NAVIGATION: OPEN HOUSE Thursday, November 13th, 2014, 6:30-8:30PM
@ Artscape Youngplace 180 Shaw Street Creative Studio, Rm. 1o8

“Doing what you love takes strategic skills, perseverance and focus. Clutch is one of those programs where the workshops and one-on-one mentorship is provided to help guide young people towards creating sustainable livelihoods out of their passions. Having actively taken part as a mentor, I know for a fact that promoting the idea that one can take their livelihood into their own hands, instills confidence, empowerment and self-awareness.”
