Toronto ALPHA invites all high school students in the GTA to apply to HumaniTEAM, a week-long summer program running from August 5th – 9th, 2013. Using the history of World War II in Asia as context, HumaniTEAM participants will explore issues of social justice, cultural identity, history, genocide, peace and reconciliation, global citizenship and education through a critical lens. Engaging students with intensive theatre and storytelling workshops, reflective activities, fun team-building games and a number of interesting guest speakers, HumaniTEAM aims to create a team for humanity and empower participants. It’s perfect for anyone interested in justice, peace and reconciliation, human rights or cultural history, and uses the arts as a lens through which we may look at atrocities and identity.
Registration ends on July 15th, 2013. For more information, please visit http://torontoalpha.org/index.php/youth/humaniteam. If you have any questions, feel free to send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
