Wednesday November 9, 8:45pm at Innis Town Hall Part of Toronto Reel Asian Film Festival's Trailblazers Shorts Presentation. *Filmmakers will be in attendance at this screening

With this short documentary, a chorus of characters takes us through the rise and fall of an island in the Philippines and its sugarcane industry. Stunning images paint a portrait of a charming place struggling with its past and trying to move into the future.

Next on the docket is Busong, a new film by Auraeus Solito.

Friday October 21, 5:00pm at the TIFF Bell Lightbox part of ImagineNative Film + Media Arts Festival 2011 *Filmmaker will be in attendance at this screening

The myths, folklore and issues facing indigenous Palawan people are explored through the journey of a brother and sister searching for a shaman who can cure her of her wounds.

Some of you may have heard of this brilliant director from his multiple international award winning debut film, Pagdadalaga Ni Maximo Oliveros (The Blossoming of Maximo Oliveros).

Busong is his third film, which is the first of a trilogy, and it's screening in Toronto as part of ImagineNative Film + Media Arts Festival.
