Kapisanan seeks emerging iPhone/Web Application Developer

Imeldra Marcos poses in her decaying luxury Are you an emerging developer looking to throw your hat into the exciting world of iPhone Apps? Have you got the basic skills but are looking for a dynamic project to get on your resume?  Are you a whiz at 'figuring things out' and 'making it work'? Then this opportunity is for you!

Kapisanan Philippine Centre for Arts & Culture is developing their very first iPhone Application! This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who has a passion for great, intuitive design, and is super technical and abundantly creative. KAPISANAN has always been on the forefront in fostering Filipino talent, regardless of discipline. Working under the mentorship of digital media professional Leonard Cervantes, this project might just be the boost you need to make your mark in the world. Developing this iPhone app, called City2City is the interactive component of Kasaysayan Exchange Program, a collaborative project between emerging resident artists of Kapisanan Philippine Centre for Arts & Culture and Manila-based performance artist Carlos Celdran.

The City2City application will provide the wealth of information, details and visuals as a complementary to Carlos Celdran’s “Living La Vida Imelda” walking tour of the Cultural Complex of the Philippines, and add to his colorful and anecdotal performance. This application will be launched as part of the Kasaysayan Exchange Program and the Toronto premiere performance of “Living La Vida Imelda” in Spring of 2011. KAPISANAN hopes to foster innovation in Filipino cultural and artistic presentation to a Canadian audience through new media with this exciting new project!
