"Everything we eat tells a story."
Cahoots Theatre Company presents
A TASTE OF EMPIRE Written and performed by Jovanni Sy
Calling out all foodies and food nerds, theatre junkies, or people who just like to eat… and indulge!
Prepare your taste buds for playwright, performer, and “highly motivated amateur” chef, Jovanni, cook a traditional Filipino dish in real time.
In a theatrical performance that feeds a hungry audience, Jovanni will prepare “rellenong bangus” (stuffed milkfish) while taking you on a delectable journey about imperialistic desires and colonialist themes in Philippine history.
You get to taste some afterwards too!
Bring your date, friends, lolas, and the rest of the fam to a very cultured evening out with rellenong bangus!
The show is running Tuesday through Saturday at 8 p.m., until July 24th. (No performance July 17.)
Where: The Market Kitchen in St. Lawrence Market, South St. Lawrence Market West Mezzanine 93 Front St. E. at Jarvis.
