Regardless of the changes in technology, the market for a WELL-CRAFTED MESSAGES WILL ALWAYS HAVE AN AUDIENCE. -- Steve Burnett, The Burnett Group

To get access to financing, at some point you are going to have to PITCH. Pitch an idea, a project, and yourself. There is an artform to it, and it can get you PAID. This workshop will give you the tools to take it to the next level.

About the facilitator: Romeo Candido is an award-winning multi-disciplinary artist who has worked professionally in the music, advertising, theatre, television, digital and film industries with his work, finding audiences all over the globe and on all platforms. He started his career as a professional cast member of MISS SAIGON and moved behind the scenes in the many theatre productions he has been a part of since.

Candido has received four Dora Award nominations for his work as a composer/sound designer (Banana Boys, Sinkil, People Power, Lady In The Red Dress). His directorial feature film debut, Lolo's Child, a ‘musical dramedy’, won the prestigious Ishmael Bernal award at the 2002 Cinemanila Film Festival.

Additionally, his follow-up film, Ang Pamana: The Inheritance was released theatrically in Southeast Asia, and the soundtrack album that Candido produced, performed, and help score, was released through Sony BMG Philippines.

He is a co-founder of HERD, a geo-located mobile application currently in development with the CFC Digital Media Lab and MaRS. His stage/film/web musical Prison Dancer has already debuted at the 7th Annual Potluck Festival last month--but you can catch it again at the Summerworks Festival in August!
