Event planning from the ground up isn't all about desk work, planning, and scheduling. Sometimes you gotta get out there. Gotta get out there and do a little PR, do a little bit of research, and network network network. Philippine Independence Day at Nathan Phillips Square was the perfect opportunity to encompass all of that, and to have fun and enjoy the day at the same time. The day was spent scouting for exhibitors and vendors, handing out Kapisanan business cards, and talking to other PR and outreach groups at the event, sharing information and getting a hands on feel of the expo events and entertainment industry as a whole.

We even got the chance to mingle and talk with artists and celebrities; from local rising artists like D-Pryde to international icons like Miss Asia 2010 Jessica Joy Hermanie. We even met online celebrity and personality JohnnyTheMind, who has a big following on BlogTv. Amidst all the action, we got to enjoy the festivities, performances, and we got to sample some of the great Filipino cuisine that our country, home country, had to share and offer. Mmm, Filipino BBQ. Meat on a stick at its finest! Check out the video for a sample of what went down this past Sunday.
