The Program Coordinator’s responsibilities include:

Primary Responsibilities: a.    Coordinate and evaluate all aspects of Drop-In Program, and corresponding exhibits/disseminations b.    Implement Conversational Tagalog Workshop Series and Critical Filipino History Workshop Series c.    Organize and manage all logistics of Drop-In, Tagalog, and History programs d.    Coordinate/Facilitate related workshops with Drop-In participants e.    Lead KAPISANAN outreach activities and events (ie. AGM, Kultura, fundraisers etc.) alongside KAPISANAN Administrator.

a)    Program Logistics a.    Marketing, program coordination, documentation of feedback, evaluation, and Follow-up with participants and facilitators. b.    Manage resources eg. equipment, dvd library, art supplies, space bookings for programs, etc. c.    Coordination of arts-based activities or workshops d.    Nurture KPC participants and members to encourage them to stay on to help implement the program and reinvest their own knowledge and newfound     expertise.

b)   Internal Support a.    Update the blog website on a regular basis with Program content b.    Maintain and submit to the KAPISANAN Executive Director on a monthly basis an updated report of spending respecting various program activities. c.    Prepare and submit reports as may be requested from time to time by the ED.

c)    Outreach (these duties will be shared with KAPISANAN Administrator) a.    Represent KAPISANAN in community organization-related meetings and special events, such as job fairs and other youth opportunities b.    Lead outreach and logistics for KAPISANAN Programming, and KAPISANAN’s other activities as needed, time permitting c.    Track, monitor and evaluate outreach strategy; involves keeping statistics, recording activities and outcomes, as well as producing regular reports

d)   General Duties a.    Participate in monthly Staff Meetings, trainings and professional development, and other special events and fundraising events throughout the contract period. b.    Provide support/mentorship and supervision to youth volunteers c.    Perform other administrative tasks relative to the position as required d.    Conduct membership drives and volunteer recruitment

We are seeking a dynamic and committed young person with:

o    Keen interest or some background in the arts and culture production. o    In-depth understanding of challenges facing youth in the Filipino-Canadian community o    In-depth understanding of Filipino & Filipino-Canadian culture, experience, and struggles o    Combination of education in a related field and/or equivalent life experience o    A passion for empowering youth from an anti-oppression and anti-racist framework o    Good working knowledge of Tagalog and/or other Filipino dialects an asset o       Ability to manage program budgets and materials, and develop program resources o    Good organizational and time-management skills; able to work under pressure and meet deadlines o      Highly proficient with internet technologies, i.e. blogs, social networks o    Be prepared to travel within Toronto and the surrounding areas as required and work flexible hours o      Working knowledge of Adobe CS (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) an asset, though we are willing to train
