Gallery Exhibit: OCTOBER 27 to NOVEMBER 14, 2008

OPENING NIGHT & FESTIVAL: NOVEMBER 1, 2008 3pm to 10pm

The Day of the Dead is celebrated on November 1st which is also known as All Souls Day. Filipinos gather together in a gravesite where they clean the tomb site of their loved ones, they bring food and drinks and set up camp for the day, some families stay overnight. It is a merry day for the dead and the living.

The idea behind this festival however is to showcase the darker perspective within Filipino Arts as well as to educate others about how Filipino’s celebrate the Day of the Dead through collected folk stories, movement pieces, poetry and music.
